Paris Saint-Germain move closer to signing Yan Diomande

PSG pushing to complete transfer after productive negotiations

Paris Saint-Germain are on the verge of securing the signing of Yan Diomande after making strong progress in talks with RB Leipzig, according to ESPN sources.

The Champions League holders submitted their opening offer for the Ivory Coast international on Sunday, and the transfer could be finalised as early as Monday. Negotiations between the clubs have gathered pace, with PSG president Nasser Al Khelaifi and Leipzig chief Oliver Mintzlaff playing active roles in the discussions.

French newspaper L’Equipe was the first to report that the deal was approaching completion.

Diomande has already chosen PSG as his next club

The proposed transfer is expected to be worth around €100 million, with additional bonuses included in the package. Leipzig are reportedly willing to accept those terms. Liverpool remain interested in the 19 year old winger, while Real Madrid are continuing to monitor the situation, but PSG are leading the race.

Diomande has already agreed to a five year contract with the French champions and has held discussions with head coach Luis Enrique and sporting director Luis Campos about the club’s plans.

PSG has always been the player’s preferred destination, and he has informed Leipzig of his wish to leave only one year after arriving from Leganes in a €20 million move.

Currently representing Ivory Coast at the World Cup, Diomande has attracted attention with his performances. His displays before Tuesday’s round of 32 match against Norway have encouraged PSG to accelerate efforts to complete the signing.
