Laporta Speaks About Alvarez Transfer Plans
Barcelona president Joan Laporta has commented on the club’s efforts to bring Atletico Madrid and Argentina forward Julian Alvarez to Camp Nou.
The possible transfer has remained one of the main stories of the summer window, but with only a few days remaining before the deadline, the situation has still not reached a final decision.
Laporta confirmed that Barcelona are seriously interested in the striker and hope their proposal will be accepted by Atletico Madrid.
Barcelona Ready to Complete Deal If Atletico Agree
“We are genuinely very interested in the player and we would like our offer to be accepted,” Laporta said.
The Barcelona president also highlighted that the club respects Atletico Madrid’s position and will only proceed if the Spanish side is willing to consider a sale during the current transfer window.
“If they are open to selling this summer, we would be ready to sign the player according to the offer we have presented,” Laporta added.
The Catalan club continues to wait for a response as the closing days of the transfer window approach.
