United plan to target league-proven players again
Manchester United are expected to continue their transfer strategy of signing players with Premier League experience.
The club changed approach last summer by bringing in Matheus Cunha from Wolves for £62.5m and Bryan Mbeumo from Brentford for £71m.
Both players adapted quickly at Old Trafford, which has encouraged United’s recruitment team to keep looking at footballers already tested in the league.
Midfield rebuild remains a key priority
United want to replace Casemiro and have made Nottingham Forest midfielder Elliot Anderson a leading target.
The club are also looking at other Premier League midfield options. That list includes Carlos Baleba, Adam Wharton, Matheus Fernandes, Alex Scott and Joao Gomes.
A move for Aston Villa attacker Morgan Rogers is also being considered. Michael Carrick knows the 23-year-old from their time together at Middlesbrough.
Rogers can play from the left and is also viewed as a possible long-term successor to Bruno Fernandes.
Left-back and overseas options still on the list
United are also searching for a left-back. Lewis Hall and Myles Lewis-Skelly are among the Premier League names being assessed.
The club are not limiting their search only to England. They are also interested in Aurelien Tchouameni, Yan Diomande and Nathaniel Brown.
Still, the fast impact of Cunha and Mbeumo has strengthened the belief that Premier League-ready signings can reduce adaptation time and help United immediately.
