Noni Madueke played a major role in Arsenal’s Premier League triumph and is now facing a race against time to be fit for the Champions League final against Paris Saint-Germain.
The winger celebrated wildly with teammates after Arsenal secured the league title following a dramatic 2-1 victory over Crystal Palace.
Madueke helped Arsenal during Saka absence
While Bukayo Saka remained Arsenal’s main attacking star throughout the season, Madueke became increasingly important during the final weeks of the campaign.
The 24 year old stepped into the starting lineup when Saka missed matches with a hamstring problem earlier in May.
His speed, direct attacking style and tactical work gave Arsenal another strong option on the right wing during a critical stage of the title race.
Manager Mikel Arteta praised the winger after the title clinching victory and said Madueke handled the pressure exceptionally well.
Winning goal sealed the Premier League title
Madueke produced the decisive moment in Arsenal’s victory over Crystal Palace.
With the score level late in the match, he cut inside from the right side, beat two defenders and fired a low shot into the bottom corner to send the Emirates Stadium into celebration.
The goal effectively secured Arsenal’s first Premier League title under Arteta and completed a remarkable season for the London club.
After the match, Madueke also joked that he personally organized the team’s celebrations and post match party.
Injury scare worries Arsenal before final
Despite the celebrations, Arsenal received worrying news near the end of the Palace match when Madueke suffered an ankle injury after a heavy challenge.
The winger was forced to leave the pitch in visible discomfort, creating concern ahead of the Champions League final in Budapest.
Madueke later admitted the ankle remained painful but insisted he would do everything possible to be available for the biggest match of the season.
Arsenal remain optimistic over recovery
According to reports from inside the club, early medical examinations showed no serious structural damage.
The injury has reportedly been classified as a minor sprain and Arsenal’s medical staff remain confident that Madueke could recover in time for the final.
His availability would give Arteta another important attacking option as Arsenal attempt to complete a historic league and European double.
