Barcelona beat Real Madrid 2-0 to clinch LaLiga title

Rashford free-kick sets up Barca’s title night

Barcelona secured the LaLiga title with a 2-0 win over Real Madrid at Spotify Camp Nou.

Marcus Rashford opened the scoring with a superb free-kick, sending the ball into the far corner past Thibaut Courtois. Ferran Torres then doubled the lead after a strong combination with Dani Olmo.

For the first time in nearly 100 years, the league title was decided in El Clasico. Barcelona claimed their 29th LaLiga crown and retained the trophy in front of their biggest rivals.

Real Madrid fail to respond after chaotic week

Real Madrid arrived after a difficult week off the pitch. Reports of tension around Kylian Mbappe and the training ground incident involving Aurelien Tchouameni and Federico Valverde added pressure before the match.

Tchouameni started for Alvaro Arbeloa’s side, while Valverde missed the game. On the pitch, Madrid struggled to match Barcelona’s intensity in the first half.

Jude Bellingham thought he had pulled one back after meeting Trent Alexander-Arnold’s pass, but the goal was ruled out for offside.

Rashford speaks about Barcelona future

Rashford, on loan from Manchester United, played a major role in the win and later admitted he would like to stay at Barcelona.

He said he is not a magician, but if he were, he would remain at the club. The forward added that he will enjoy the moment and review the situation at the end of the season.

His display may strengthen his case for a permanent move. Rashford has contributed to 28 goals in 47 games for Barcelona and has now won his first league title.

Madrid face trophyless finish

Real Madrid are set to finish a second straight season without a major trophy after exits from the Champions League and Copa del Rey.

Interim boss Alvaro Arbeloa is expected to leave in the summer. Jose Mourinho has been linked with a possible return, but the Benfica coach said he has had no contact with Real Madrid.
