Transfer News LIVE: Arsenal Make £60m Move for Watkins, Duran Set for Al-Nassr

Arsenal Eye Aston Villa’s Ollie Watkins in £60m Move

Arsenal are making a strong push to sign Aston Villa’s star striker Ollie Watkins as they seek to strengthen their attacking options. According to reports, the Gunners have submitted a £60 million bid for the England international, hoping to lure him away from Unai Emery’s squad.

Why Arsenal Want Watkins

Mikel Arteta is eager to add more firepower to his frontline, and Watkins’ impressive form has made him a prime target. The 28-year-old has been a key player for Villa, delivering consistent performances in the Premier League.

However, Aston Villa are reluctant to sell one of their best players mid-season. Unai Emery has already dismissed the idea of losing Watkins, stating:

“I don’t want him to leave. Watkins is our striker, and we are ambitious with our squad.”

It remains to be seen whether Arsenal will increase their offer or move on to alternative targets.

Duran Set to Join Ronaldo at Al-Nassr

While Villa are fighting to keep Watkins, Jhon Duran is on his way out. The young Colombian forward is reportedly set to complete a move to Saudi Pro League club Al-Nassr, where he will join Cristiano Ronaldo.

The transfer fee is said to be around €77 million (£66m/$80m), making it a significant deal for both Villa and Al-Nassr. Emery acknowledged the move, stating:

“Selling players at the right price is part of football. If a player like Duran is attracting top clubs, it means we are doing things right.”

With Duran’s departure, Villa might need to find a replacement before the transfer window closes.

Manchester United Preparing New Bid for Dorgu

Elsewhere in the Premier League, Manchester United are looking to strengthen their squad by making another approach for talented Lecce defender Patrick Dorgu.

The Red Devils had an initial bid rejected, but sources suggest they are preparing a new offer within the next two days to secure the Danish left-back.

With injuries affecting their defense, Erik ten Hag sees Dorgu as a valuable addition to provide depth and competition in the backline.
