The biggest extravaganza in franchise cricket is back with its sixteenth edition as BCCI, on February 17, officially unveiled the schedule and dates for the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023. Defending champions Gujarat Titans will engage in a tussle with four-time IPL winners Chennai Super Kings to kickstart the cricket carnival on Friday, March 31.

Notably, the IPL will begin just a few days after the conclusion of the inaugural edition of the Women’s Premier League (WPL). The lucrative T20 league will see 70 matches (league stage) being contested which includes 18 double headers played across 12 venues. Guwahati and Dharamshala are the two other venues that will host a few games apart from the 10 home venues of the franchises participating in the league.

Over the years, franchises have produced some scintillating cricket, which makes IPL Match Prediction quite tricky. Gujarat Titans will have their task cut out as they bid to defend their crown. They will be gunning to add yet another title to their cabinet. Meanwhile, despite enduring a pretty forgettable season in the last edition, Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings will be vying to bring their glory days back.

Interestingly, CSK and MI will clash in a historic game in the forthcoming edition on Saturday, May 6 as the arch-rivals are to play the 1000th fixture of the IPL since its inception in 2008. The excitement increases ten folds as the BCCI has also included the ‘impact’ player rule wherein a franchise will have to list four substitutes (Indians) at the toss and can use one of those players in the contest.

Following the thrilling mini-auction that took place in the bidding arena in December, teams will get down to serious business on the field to fight it out for the ultimate glory which is to clinch the prestigious title. The same will be witnessed by fans in the upcoming season, and they are likely to use IPL Dream11 to devise their fantasy teams.
All teams will play seven home games and an equal number of away games in the league phase prior to the playoffs as the conventional ‘home and away’ model come
