Quadrant, the UK-based esports and content brand founded by British F1 driver Lando Norris, has announced its decision to withdraw from competitive esports, specifically from the Halo Championship Series. Quadrant started as a content creation platform but expanded into esports in December 2021 with a focus on Halo, where the team achieved notable success, including a strong showing at the HCS Arlington Major and a win at the Europa Halo LAN in Blackpool.
Refocusing on Motorsport, Fashion, and Creative Content
CEO Jamie MacLaurin shared that Quadrant’s exit marks a shift towards a brand focused on the crossover of motorsport culture, fashion, and creative content. He expressed pride in their achievements in esports and extended gratitude to the team’s Halo players, 343 Industries, and Microsoft. Addressing fans, MacLaurin thanked them for their support, emphasizing the lasting memories created during Quadrant’s esports journey.
New Opportunities Beyond Esports
While Quadrant did not specify the exact reasons for leaving esports, the broader industry’s challenges likely played a role. Jamie MacLaurin highlighted that the decision to depart was made “on our own terms,” noting the honor of competing on a global stage. Quadrant’s decision reflects the trend of organizations seeking stability outside traditional esports amid ongoing market difficulties.
Quadrant will now look forward to expanding its brand at the intersection of motorsport and creative industries, paving a new path beyond the esports arena.
