Alcaraz vs. Draper: Showdown at Queen's Club Championships

On Thursday, the Queen’s Club Tennis Championships will feature a compelling round of 16 match, with top seed Carlos Alcaraz taking on Jack Draper. Alcaraz, the defending champion at this ATP 500 event, aims to stave off an upset by Britain’s number one, Jack Draper, who enters the match energized by his recent tour victory in Stuttgart.

Alcaraz Triumphs in Cinch Championships Opener

Carlos Alcaraz showcased his potential and perseverance in a straight-set victory against Francisco Cerundolo at the Cinch Championships. Dominating the first set 6-1 with a double break, Alcaraz experienced a dip in the second, trailing 5-2. Despite this, he made a remarkable comeback, breaking Cerundolo’s serve twice more before clinching the match. This win not only marks his strong start on grass for 2024 but also extends his streak of not dropping a set at the event since last year. Moving forward, Alcaraz aims to leverage this momentum against a confident Draper.

Draper Eyes Momentum Against Alcaraz After Stuttgart Triumph

British No. 1 Jack Draper is riding high after defeating Matteo Berrettini in a tough Stuttgart final, securing his first ATP 250 title and climbing to a career-high rank of No. 31.

Returning to home soil just two days later, Draper showcased his sharp focus by defeating Mariano Navone 6-3, 6-2 in just 54 minutes.

The 22-year-old is making up for lost time after missing the entire 2023 grass-court season and aims to build on his Stuttgart momentum against the in-form Carlos Alcaraz.

However, Draper faces a challenging task. He must demonstrate the same battling qualities that helped him overcome Berrettini, especially against an opponent of Alcaraz’s caliber. Draper’s ongoing six-match winning streak in this year’s grass season will face its toughest test yet on Thursday.
