Lewis Hamilton Aims for Ferrari Pole on Debut in Australia

“Never Say Never” – Hamilton Keeps Dream Alive

Lewis Hamilton has hinted at a potential first pole position with Ferrari, telling fans to “never say never” ahead of the Australian Grand Prix. The seven-time world champion, who holds a record-breaking 104 pole positions in his career, is still adapting to his new team but remains optimistic about his chances.

Hamilton ended Friday’s practice sessions in fifth place, 0.420 seconds behind his teammate Charles Leclerc, who topped the timesheets. While acknowledging that it’s still early days, he remains determined to give it his all.

Adjusting to Life at Ferrari

Speaking about his transition to Ferrari, Hamilton admitted he’s still learning the nuances of his new car and setup.

“P1 was a little bit messy. P2 was definitely starting to look a little bit better,” he said.
“I’m still getting used to all of the setup changes. I don’t have them on call like I used to have with Mercedes. Where I’d been there so long, I knew exactly all the setup changes, so I’m still working through understanding what tools we can use.”

Despite the learning curve, Hamilton remains confident that he knows where to find extra pace.

“I’m just not putting too much pressure on. I’m going to try to enjoy it. I’ve got some pace to find. I know where to find it. It’s just about going out there and doing it and just building.”

A Fierce Battle for the Front Row

This season is shaping up to be one of the most competitive in years, with Ferrari, Red Bull, Mercedes, and McLaren all in the fight for pole positions and victories.

Leclerc, while pleased with Ferrari’s pace in practice, is staying cautious ahead of qualifying.

“Let’s wait and see, but after a day like this, we are looking forward to tomorrow and we want to target pole position.”

McLaren has shown strong pace, but Leclerc remains wary of Red Bull and Mercedes.

“I don’t think we’ve seen the real pace of everybody yet. Some teams might be hiding their game a bit more than others. McLaren is up there, Red Bull might be struggling, but you never know with Max. Mercedes look strong as well, so it is going to be a good fight.”

With a tightly contested battle expected, Hamilton’s debut Ferrari pole remains uncertain. But as he said himself—never say never.
