Audi have lifted the lid on the colour palette that will dress their first Formula 1 challenger, revealing a concept livery at a glitzy launch in Munich as the brand gears up to enter the sport in 2026. The scheme mixes titanium, carbon black and Audi red with the four rings prominent, previewing the look of the works outfit that will take over the Sauber entry under the new chassis and power-unit rules.
Technical Roadmap
The German manufacturer confirmed continued build-up on multiple fronts: the power unit is being developed at Neuburg, Sauber’s Hinwil base is being upgraded for the chassis and race operations, and a UK Technology Centre in Bicester is set to tap into “Motorsport Valley” expertise. At the Munich Brand Experience Centre reveal, CEO Gernot Döllner, Audi F1 project head Mattia Binotto and team principal Jonathan Wheatley outlined an ambition to be title contenders by 2030, with Nico Hülkenberg and Gabriel Bortoleto slated to lead the driver line-up into the Audi era.
Car Unveil
While the final race car will be unveiled closer to January 2026, Audi framed the concept as a “very distinct preview” of its on-track identity, and a statement of intent for a programme designed to evolve from challenger to champion under F1’s next rules cycle.
