United target Lammens for long-term role
Manchester United are exploring the signing of Senne Lammens from Royal Antwerp, valuing the 23-year-old at around £17m. Lammens is seen as a potential long-term No 1 who could eventually replace André Onana or Altay Bayindir. However, the lack of guaranteed first-team football under Ruben Amorim could complicate the move.
Martínez an alternative but costly
Another option is Emiliano Martínez, though at 32 and with Aston Villa demanding £35m, United see him as a short-term fix rather than a long-term solution. His World Cup-winning pedigree is respected, but financial and age factors weigh against him.
Sancho to Villa and Højlund to Napoli
Away from the goalkeeping situation, Jadon Sancho is set to join Aston Villa on loan, with the club covering 80% of his wages. Meanwhile, striker Rasmus Højlund is in Italy to finalise a loan move to Napoli. The agreement includes an obligation for a permanent transfer if Napoli qualify for the Champions League.
Midfield business stalls
Despite speculation, United are unlikely to bring in midfield reinforcements before the transfer window closes. Kobbie Mainoo’s request to leave on loan has been rejected, keeping the 20-year-old at Old Trafford for the season.
