Anderson attracting major attention after strong season
Elliot Anderson continues to draw interest from some of the biggest clubs in England after another impressive season with Nottingham Forest. Manchester City are still said to view the midfielder as a leading target for the summer, while Manchester United are also closely monitoring his situation.
Both clubs are expected to strengthen in central midfield once the season ends. Reports suggest Anderson remains high on the list of options, although no move has yet entered an advanced stage. United have reportedly admired him since last summer, and his progress over the past year has only strengthened that interest.
At 23, Anderson is now being seen as one of the standout midfielders outside the very top sides, and there is also growing belief that he could earn a place in England’s World Cup squad if he maintains this level.
United planning midfield changes while Forest face uncertainty
Manchester United are expected to make midfield a key area of work in the next transfer window. Alongside Anderson, players such as Adam Wharton and Carlos Baleba are also being linked with the club. With Casemiro due to leave when his contract expires, United may need to bring in more than one new midfielder.
Forest’s league position could play an important part in any future deal. The club are still caught in a relegation battle and are only staying out of the bottom three on goal difference. If they go down, Anderson’s exit would become much more likely, although Forest would still be expected to demand a very large fee for one of their most valuable players.
Former England defender Joleon Lescott believes Anderson’s value could eventually rise to around £100 million. In his view, a World Cup appearance would only increase both the interest in the player and the price attached to him. He also suggested that relegation would bring even more clubs into the race, because more teams would feel a deal had become possible.
For now, Anderson remains one of the most closely watched midfielders ahead of the summer market, with his future likely to become a major talking point once the season finishes.
