Keeper out for Chelsea and likely beyond
Arne Slot says it is difficult to predict when Alisson will be back after the Brazilian strained his hamstring in Liverpool’s one to nil loss to Galatasaray on Tuesday. The head coach confirmed the goalkeeper will miss Saturday’s trip to Chelsea at 17:30 BST and will not join Brazil. Slot added he would be surprised to see Alisson available for the first match after the international break, while stressing recoveries can move faster or slower than expected.
Report suggests six weeks but club stays cautious
A report in The Athletic suggested an absence of around six weeks which would point to a return after mid November. Slot declined to endorse a fixed estimate and underlined that Alisson will miss the upcoming fixtures for both Liverpool and the national team.
Mamardashvili set to start at Stamford Bridge
Giorgi Mamardashvili a twenty nine million pound signing from Valencia last summer is in line to start at Chelsea. Liverpool remain top of the Premier League despite last weekend’s defeat at Crystal Palace. The Reds are hopeful that Hugo Ekitike and Federico Chiesa can travel after scheduled training on Friday.
