Liverpool to be without six key players for Newcastle trip

Liverpool faces an injury crisis as six key players will miss their upcoming Premier League clash against Newcastle United at St James’ Park. The Reds are coming off impressive victories over Real Madrid and Manchester City, but injuries to several key players will leave them shorthanded for the match.

Key Injuries for Liverpool

The major concerns for Liverpool are in the defensive department, with defenders Ibrahima Konate, Conor Bradley, and Kostas Tsimikas all sidelined due to recent injuries. Both Bradley and Konate picked up injuries after stellar performances against Real Madrid in the Champions League, forcing them to miss the clash with Manchester City. Tsimikas suffered an ankle injury during training and was seen on crutches at the City game, indicating he won’t be back anytime soon.

Alisson and Forward Woes

In addition to the defensive absentees, star goalkeeper Alisson Becker is also unavailable due to a hamstring injury sustained late in Liverpool’s win against Crystal Palace. Manager Arne Slot has stated that Alisson will return once fully fit, but he expects it may take a few more days. However, Alisson is expected to be back in goal by the end of December.

There are also concerns over the fitness of forwards Diogo Jota and Federico Chiesa. Jota has been sidelined since October with an injury sustained against Chelsea, while Chiesa, who has recently returned to first-team training, will need time to regain full match fitness.

With this growing injury list, Liverpool will be hoping for a strong performance against a tough Newcastle side, despite missing several of their top players.
