Liverpool told Alexander Isak transfer ‘reality’ with agreement ‘expected’

Heskey confident deal will be struck

Emile Heskey has suggested Liverpool and Newcastle United will eventually reach an agreement for Alexander Isak before the transfer window closes. Heskey described the situation as “disappointing” but believes it benefits both clubs to resolve it, insisting Newcastle are right to demand maximum value for their star forward.

Newcastle’s striker search stalls

The Magpies have struggled to secure a replacement, missing out on Liam Delap and Joao Pedro to Chelsea, Hugo Ekitike to Liverpool, and Benjamin Sesko to Manchester United. Eddie Howe’s recruitment team are now pursuing Brentford’s Yoane Wissa and Wolves’ Jorgen Strand Larsen.

Why Liverpool fans will back Isak

Heskey is convinced Isak would be a success at Anfield, pointing to the unconditional support of Liverpool fans: “The fans are going to love you. They always get behind you as long as you work hard and produce.” He referenced how supporters stood by Darwin Nunez, believing they would offer the same backing to Isak.

A forward line built on competition

Heskey emphasised Liverpool’s need for another striker to ensure competition and maintain standards within the squad: “You always need two strikers that challenge each other. If you get complacent, that’s when bad things can happen.” He concluded by stressing Isak has the quality to push Liverpool’s attack to new levels.
