Jurgen Klopp has admitted that he does not see his coaching story as fully over, although he made it clear that he has no current plans to return to management. At the same time, the former Liverpool boss strongly rejected the latest speculation linking him with Real Madrid.
Klopp is preparing for a return to the Anfield dugout on Saturday, where he will work alongside Kenny Dalglish in Liverpool Legends’ charity match against Borussia Dortmund. Even so, he stressed that his focus is not on taking another major job right now.
Klopp leaves the door open for a future return
Speaking in a recent interview, Klopp said he is still not completely finished as a coach, even if he is not actively thinking about his next move at the moment.
He explained that there is currently no reason for him to plan a comeback, but he also did not rule out the idea that something could appear in the coming years. For now, however, he insisted there is nothing concrete in place.
He shuts down Real Madrid speculation
Klopp also responded to the reports that have linked him with Real Madrid. According to him, there has been no contact at all and the whole story has no basis.
He said that if Madrid had really made an approach, people would already know about it. He added that neither he nor his agent had received any call from the Spanish club.
Red Bull exit reports were also dismissed
The former Liverpool manager pushed back just as strongly against suggestions that he could walk away from his current role with Red Bull. He said those reports were also wrong and criticized the people behind them.
Klopp made it clear that he is not considering leaving his position and suggested that some of the claims came from people who do not really understand the nature of his work.
A return to management can wait for now
Although Klopp continues to be linked with big jobs, he is still keeping distance from any immediate comeback. His contract with Red Bull runs until 2029, and for now he appears settled in that role.
That means the next step in his career remains open, but not urgent. For the moment, the reunion at Anfield and another emotional day in Liverpool seem much more relevant than any rumours about Madrid or a fast return to the touchline.
