Is it too early for Isak in Fantasy teams?
Liverpool’s record signing Alexander Isak could make his debut against Burnley this weekend, but his readiness is in doubt. Holly Shand stresses patience: despite the tempting fixture, Isak has had a disrupted pre-season, limited training, and just 18 minutes of action for Sweden during the break. Chris Sutton agrees, adding that Hugo Ekitike’s strong form makes it unnecessary to rush Isak into the starting XI. For FPL managers, throwing him in immediately looks risky.
Impact on Salah, Ekitike and Gakpo
In the long term, Isak is expected to claim the number nine role, which may push Cody Gakpo into fewer minutes and leave Ekitike competing for a wide berth. Ekitike, with two goals and an assist so far, remains a reliable early option. Statman Dave argues that Isak’s eventual presence will boost Mohamed Salah’s output rather than hinder it, with the Swede holding up play while Salah stretches defences. For now, however, Isak’s FPL value lies in his potential rather than immediate returns.
Liverpool fans and fantasy managers alike will be watching closely at Turf Moor to see how Arne Slot integrates his £125m striker.
