Jordan Loyd Returns to Monaco with Contract Until 2026

American guard Jordan Loyd is set to return to AS Monaco after officially leaving Maccabi Tel Aviv due to concerns about the ongoing conflict in the region. According to Eurohoops sources, Loyd has signed a contract with Monaco that will keep him with the team until 2026.

Despite already playing two EuroLeague games this season for Maccabi, new EuroLeague regulations allow Loyd to be immediately available for Monaco. He will rejoin Monaco’s formidable backcourt lineup, which includes Mike James and Elie Okobo. Additionally, Nick Calathes, once fully recovered from injury, will further strengthen Monaco’s playmaking abilities under coach Sasa Obradovic.

Loyd’s Farewell Message to Maccabi Tel Aviv

After his final EuroLeague game with Maccabi, Loyd took to social media to express his emotions and gratitude to the club and its supporters. He acknowledged that leaving the team was one of the toughest decisions of his career.

“Leaving where the heart wants to be is incredibly hard,” Loyd said. “I grew close to my teammates, coaches, and staff, and the fans showed me so much love in such a short time.”

Loyd explained that, despite his family’s concerns, he initially chose to join Maccabi because he believed the situation in the region was stabilizing. However, after witnessing the recent escalation in violence firsthand, he made the difficult decision to leave for his family’s safety.

With a heavy heart, Loyd expressed hope for peace in the region and a future return to Maccabi Tel Aviv, stating, “I wish you nothing but the best, Maccabi.”
